A woman found herself in need of rescue after going for a hike in the Hollywood Hills West area of Los Angeles on New Year’s Day.

Emergency personnel were sent to the 1800 block of Curson Avenue after learning of the situation around 8:50 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department stated.

The 63-year-old hiker was said to have suffered a non-life-threatening injury to her lower body.

An LAFD Air Ops team was eventually called to rescue the hiker using a hoist operation.

Several hiking trails can be found off Curson Avenue near Wattles Garden Park.
