Allegedly armed man shuts down 105 Fwy in South Los Angeles

A man was arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun at vehicles on the 105 Freeway near Vermont Avenue, an incident that resulted in the freeway’s closure in South Los Angeles Monday morning.

Details are limited, but Sky5 was overhead just after 9:45 a.m. when Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies took the man into custody.

Officials gave the man a great deal of space, resulting in the closure of the freeway and other streets nearby.

Lt. Darland of the LASD said the adult man will face a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, and his firearm was confiscated.

The freeway was also reopened, and no injuries were reported.
