Driver ends pursuit, surrenders near Santa Clarita

A fleeing driver led authorities on a relatively brief pursuit on Monday, surrendering to officers after pulling over near Santa Clarita.

The driver of the white compact car was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, the California Highway Patrol said.

By about 1:15 p.m., when Sky5 arrived on scene, the driver of the white compact car was on surface streets near Canyon Country.

Moments later, the driver pulled over in the 14800 block of Soledad Canyon Road and surrendered to police.

KTLA’s Rich Prickett reported from Sky5 that the vehicle had struck at least one spike strip, likely inhibiting its ability to evade law enforcement.
