L.A. County’s free vending machines can help reverse ODs, diagnose COVID

Angelenos in need of COVID-19 tests, overdose-reversing medication and other health-related needs can access them for free at Los Angeles County’s new community health stations.

The stations, which are essentially vending machines that offer the equipment for free, were unveiled this week by the county’s Department of Public Health.

The following items are available at the 51 stations across the county:

“COVID-19 self-tests, naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and condoms allow individuals to take actions that protect themselves and others in the community,” said Barbara Ferrer, director of Public Health. “Having free public health supplies available to residents seven days a week through the self-service Community Health Stations makes it easier to access important products that support health and save lives.”

The stations have different hours and days of operation. To find a location near you and see its business hours, visit Public Health’s website.
