Suspect in stolen convertible arrested after high-speed chase in L.A.

A suspect who led police on a high-speed chase in a stolen car was arrested after crashing in Los Angeles Friday night.

The chase began in Hollywood as the suspect was seen in a gray convertible Ford Mustang speeding down surface streets, running red lights and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The chase continued into North Hollywood and Burbank as the driver hit speeds of nearly 130 miles per hour at times.

As he entered an off-ramp on the southbound 5 Freeway near the 138 Stadium Way exit, he struck a metal guardrail at high speeds, which disabled the car.

California Highway Patrol officers quickly surrounded the vehicle and dragged the suspect out of the vehicle before handcuffing him on the ground.

There were no other passengers inside as officers searched and cleared the vehicle.

Footage of the chase can be seen in the video player above.
