Los Angeles Police Department investigating burglary spree in San Fernando Valley

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating multiple burglaries in the San Fernando Valley that occurred early Tuesday morning.

According to LAPD Media Relations Officer Madison, the first incident was a “lobby glass break” report that came out at 2:10 a.m. at Riverton Jewelry Store, located at 13351 Riverside Drive.

The store’s owner said the thief escaped with several pieces of silver jewelry.

About half an hour later, LAPD units responded to another glass break call, this time at Stacey Todd Boutique on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. Arriving officers found a front window shattered but were unable to determine if anything was stolen right away, authorities said.

KTLA was able to obtain surveillance footage from the Stacey Todd location that showed the suspect taking bags away from the area after appearing to smash the store’s front window.

At 3:27 a.m., a third call was reported in the 11800 block of Sheldon Street in Sun Valley; officials were able to confirm that a burglary did take place but stated that they could not verify preliminary indications that the business that was targeted was a dispensary and that marijuana products were taken.

Video evidence, however, shows large bags of marijuana on the ground outside the location as officers combed the scene for evidence.

In this incident, the suspects were said to have fled in two BMW SUVs; police were involved in a short pursuit of a white BMW believed to be the suspect vehicle connected to one of the burglaries.

That vehicle traveled on the 101 Freeway and exited on Gower Street where officers lost sight of it, Officer Madison said.

It was not immediately clear whether any of the three incidents were related.
