Man arrested for theft of Humvees, equipment from Orange County military warehouse

A suspect who allegedly stole a collection of military equipment and Humvees from the Army Reserve Center in Tustin was arrested, police announced Wednesday.

The suspect was identified as Alfredo Reyes Jr., 40, from Orange, according to the Tustin Police Department.


On Jan. 8, Reyes is accused of breaking into a storage warehouse and cutting a lock to access a military vehicle parking lot.

After he fled the scene, officials said several Humvees and a collection of army gear were stolen including:

On Jan. 16,  Tustin police, along with the Irvine-Tustin SWAT Team, Army Criminal Investigations Division, and the O.C. Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad, served several search warrants in the city of Orange.

Reyes was identified as the suspect involved and taken into custody. No further details, including his booking photo, were released.

All stolen Humvees and military equipment were recovered during the arrest, authorities confirmed.
