A man was hospitalized after being stabbed during a youth football game in Camarillo.
On Oct. 18, Ventura County deputies responded to reports of a stabbing at Adolfo Camarillo High School shortly before 6 p.m.
Authorities found the victim, identified only as a 27-year-old Oxnard man, suffering from a stab wound. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
The circumstances leading up to the violent altercation remain unclear. Investigators did not provide information on the suspect as the case remains under investigation.
“Detectives are actively investigating this stabbing and are asking for the public’s assistance for any information regarding the incident,” the sheriff’s office said.
