Nearly 400 pounds of illegal weed seized in Fullerton: report

Nearly 400 pounds of cannabis was seized from three allegedly illegal shops in Fullerton on Thursday.

The 391 pounds of cannabis seized are worth more than $620,000, reports the Orange County Register, which attributed the information to David Hafner, spokesperson for the California Department of Cannabis Control.

No arrests were made, but the investigation is ongoing, officials said.

While cannabis is legal in California, the problem of illegal cultivation and sale of marijuana and marijuana products has persisted in recent years.

State officials have touted the destruction of more than 20,000 plants and seizure of more than $220 million in illegal cannabis in the past few weeks alone.
