Wolf Fire erupts in Riverside County, prompts evacuation orders

Another fire has erupted in Riverside County on Sunday evening, prompting evacuation orders as it burns over one thousand acres of land right next to the already-raging Mindy Fire, according to officials.

The newly dubbed Wolf Fire, which started around 3:09 p.m., was mapped at 1,165 acres as of 7:32 p.m., per the CAL FIRE website. It originated near Old Banning Idyllwild Road and Wolfskill Truck Trail.


The CAL FIRE and Riverside County Fire Department issued evacuation orders for the following zones: RVC-0650, RVC-0749, RVC-0750, RVC-0828, RVC-POPPETFLATS1, RVC-TWINPINES1, MRF-TWINPINES2, MRF-0539, MRF-0751, RVC-POPPETFLATS4,

The department issued evacuation warnings for the following zones: RVC-0541, RVC-0655, RVC-0654, RVC-0830, RVC- VISTAGRANDE, RVC-POPPETFLATS2, RVC-POPPETFLATS3, RVC-0898, RVC-1000, RVC-1001

CAL FIRE said the flames are burning at a moderate rate of spread, and that multiple air and ground resources have been assigned.

A care and reception site has been opened at Hemet High School, located at 41701 E Stetson Ave, Hemet, 92544. In addition, an animal shelter is open at 581 S Grand Ave, San Jacinto.
