L.A. boutique owner fed up after 3rd burglary in 2-and-a-half years: ‘Leave us alone’ 

The owner of a boutique jewelry store in Los Angeles’ Beverly Grove neighborhood says she feels violated but is not shocked after her business was targeted again by burglars. 

Pamela Moses, owner of Bead Boutique on West 3^rd Street, told KTLA that this is the third burglary her business has sustained in the last two-and-a-half years. 

In this instance, surveillance footage shows the thief using a large rock to smash the store’s front window around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday before ransacking the store of custom jewelry and a small amount of cash left in the register. 

The store’s window was already boarded up by 7:30 a.m., and according to KTLA 5’s Omar Lewis, the rock used by the thief still sat in the middle of the store, serving as a “stark reminder” of yet another burglary. 

According to Moses, she was woken up by an alarm on her phone warning her that her store was being broken into. 

“The alarm starts going off – it’s screaming – and I looked at my phone [and saw] this man come into my store,” she said.  “I have an intercom system on my cameras, and I was able to say, ‘Get out of my store,’ but whether he heard me or not…I’m not sure.”  

A defeated Moses also told KTLA that she is simply tired of her small business – which she has owned for 21 years – being burglarized, and she had a message for thieves who target any small business. 

“Knock it off,” she said.  “It’s hard enough to stay in business, so please leave us alone.” 

Moses said that she will need to fork over between $5,000 and $10,000 to make repairs and replace stolen items.

The Los Angeles Police Department was not immediately able to provide any further details surrounding the burglary.
