Comments that GOP vice presidential pick JD Vance made years ago about people without children have resurfaced online and caught Jennifer Aniston’s attention.
The actress posted a video clip on her Instagram story of Vance’s 2021 appearance on Tucker Carlson’s former show on Fox News. The then-Ohio senate candidate made controversial remarks about the Democratic party.
In the video, Vance tells Carlson that the United States is being run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
He continued:
“It’s just a basic fact, you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC (Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez), the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children,” he pointed out. “And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

The now-viral resurfaced clip was posted on X, formerly Twitter, by Ron Filipkowski who is the Editor-in-Chief of Meidas Touch.
In the social media post, Aniston blasted Vance’s comments.
“I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of The United States,” she wrote. “All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”
The actress, who is very private about her relationships, broke her silence about having children in 2022 with Allure magazine.
She revealed that during her “late 30s,40s,” she had “gone through really hard s–t.”
“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the baby-making road,” Aniston said.
“All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it. I was throwing everything at it. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.’ You just don’t think it. So here I am today. The ship has sailed.”
For years, the 55-year-old has been the topic of tabloid fodder, with the false narrative that she didn’t want to have children.
She recalled that the “narrative that I was just selfish” was painful.
“I just cared about my career,” she continued in the interview. “God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child. And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid. It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point.”
Aniston hasn’t hidden that she’s supporting Harris’ presidential campaign.
Following her post about Vance, she added a 2018 video of Harris questioning then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh about abortion rights. The C-SPAN video clip was originally posted by actress Allison Janney.
Harris, who is married to Doug Emhoff, is the stepmother to his children Ella and Cole. In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, she revealed that the two call her “momala.”
