Gayle Anderson reports on the crucial first day of operation of the temporary Project Angel Food kitchen in Lincoln Heights. This facility is being used while the current Hollywood campus is being transformed into a state-of-the-art facility that will double the kitchen size and triple its capacity.
The project, known as the “Rise to the Challenge Expansion,” needs volunteers as construction proceeds on what will become the Chuck Lorre Family Foundation Campus. Collector tee shirts, the “Project Angel Food Lincoln Heights Crew” are being given on a first-come, first-served basis to volunteers the weeks of Aug. 19 and Aug. 26. Volunteers can sign up by calling (323) 845-1816 or email: VolunteerServices@AngelFood.org.
