A deadly crash involving a trash truck and a sedan Friday is under investigation in Santa Clarita.

The incident involving a Burrtec trash truck was reported just before 8 a.m. in the 17900 block of Soledad Canyon Road just north of the 14 Freeway.

Sky5 was over the scene at 9 a.m. where the smashed sedan could be seen partially under the garbage truck.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson said there were two patients involved in the crash but no one was transported.

It was unclear if the second patient was also killed or survived the crash with minor injuries.

A canopy was set up to cover the body of the person who was killed in the crash.

No details regarding what caused the crash were immediately available.
