One of L.A.’s more upscale neighborhoods is still trying to curb the rampant home burglaries plaguing the area, but an incident early Wednesday morning shows that businesses are still targets for thieves.
Preliminary information indicates that Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to a commercial property on Ventura Boulevard near Newcastle Avenue around 3 a.m.
Upon arriving at the business, a shoe store, the officers found three vehicles with suspects that had broken in. A pursuit was initiated, but LAPD eventually lost all three vehicles, freelance media group KNN reported.
Video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows money scattered across the street. It was not immediately clear what, if anything, was stolen.
The store owner had boarded up the front door by 7 a.m.
The Los Angeles Police Department could not immediately provide any suspect or vehicle descriptions.
