Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Reyes Moronta died at the age of 31 over the weekend, according to multiple reports.

Moronta, who pitched in 22 games for the Dodgers in 2022, died in a vehicle crash in his home country of the Dominican Republic on Sunday, the Los Angeles Times reported.

His death was confirmed by the Mexican Baseball League in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Moronta’s career peaked with the San Francisco Giants between 2017 and 2021. During two years between 2018 and 2019, Moronta became one of the Giants’ most reliable relievers.

He also spent time with the Arizona Diamondbacks and pitched two games with the Los Angeles Angels in 2023.
