The popular Viper roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia got stuck Sunday evening, leaving more than a dozen passengers stranded high in the air.

Video showed riders stuck on the Viper roller coaster around 7 p.m. after the ride experienced some type of malfunction.

Video showed a Six Flags safety team ascending an emergency stairwell to assist the riders who fortunately came to a stop on a flat portion of the tracks.

The crewmembers unloaded the riders and directed them down the multi-story stairwell.

The riders were stuck on the ride for about 30 minutes before safely reaching the ground below, freelance media firm KNN reported.

Six Flags has not yet indicated what caused the ride to stop but KNN stated that maintenance staff was focused on an issue with the ride’s compressor system.

KTLA has reached out to Six Flags for a statement.
