A mountain lion was spotted on camera in a residential area of Shadow Hills on Sunday.

The cougar was seen near the intersection of Colebrook Street and Wheatland Avenue around 7 p.m., said resident Janet Barker, who supplied the footage to KTLA.

A jogger also spotted the big cat on his way through the neighborhood, he told KTLA’s Sandra Mitchell.

“I thought I was dead,” said Chris Hurd. “I was like, ‘Uh oh.’ … He didn’t expect me, I didn’t expect it. There was nothing between you and I. You could kill me if you wanted to.”

Another neighbor, Debbie Smith, described the puma as “huge.”

“I’ve never seen a cat that big before,” she added.

The cat doesn’t appear to have been collared or tagged by government officials.
