A worker died Tuesday morning in an accident involving heavy construction equipment near Bel-Air.
The unidentified man was “gravely injured” around 10 a.m. while working on a residential job site on the 10600 block of West Chalon Road.
Details about the accident itself are limited, but video from Sky5 showed what appeared to be a track loader or skid steer with an auger attachment parked at the base of a steep embankment.
A tarp typically used to cover the body of a deceased person could be seen near the treads of the heavy equipment.

The Los Angeles Fire Department initially responded, but the man died from his injuries at the scene. His body remained at the scene as of 12:30 p.m.
The man’s death is under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal-OSHA) will likely investigate the workplace safety conditions at the site, LAFD officials said.
