Some awards ceremonies have been postponed as the region has its eyes on the fires burning throughout Southern California.

The Critics Choice Awards were set to take place on Jan. 12, but due to the catastrophic fires, officials pushed it back to Jan. 26.

The Annual AFI Awards luncheon, which were set to take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday has been postponed. The AARP Movies for Grownups Awards, which was also set for that same day, has been postponed.

“Due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and in consideration of the families and communities impacted, we will postpone AARP’s Annual Movies for Grownups Awards originally scheduled to take place Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Beverly Hills. We extend our sympathies to all who are affected. AARP will provide a new date and time for the awards as soon as possible,” AARP announced on Thursday.

The Producers Guild Awards have delayed their nominations from Friday to Sunday.

These ceremonies occur as voting is underway for the Academy Awards and serve as a campaign for projects eyeing an Oscar.

In the meantime, Oscar nominations have been pushed back from Jan. 17 to Jan. 19 with the Film Academy extending the voting window to accommodate members affected by the fires.

The 2025 Academy Awards take place March 2 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
