Police are asking the public for help in identifying and locating a minor involved in an “Estes robbery” at a Target store in Los Angeles County earlier this month.

The incident occurred on Feb. 3 at the store located on the 39000 block of 10th Street West in Palmdale, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department stated in a special bulletin posted on Facebook Friday.

The suspect allegedly grabbed several items from the store and hid them inside a backpack.

“Loss prevention attempted to recover the stolen property and was pushed by the subject,” the bulletin stated.

Detectives have released an image of the suspect in hopes of identifying or locating him.

He was described as a male Black juvenile wearing a “Rockstar Original” hoodie with sweatpants and a black backpack.

An Estes robbery refers to a crime that begins as a standard shoplifting act but escalates into a robbery when the suspect uses force to evade being caught.
