A motorist is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, for a car-to-car shooting incident that took place in South Gate late last month.

“On April 30th, our officers witnessed a car-to-car shooting near Firestone Blvd and Azalea Ave. When they attempted to stop the vehicles, a pursuit began — with the suspect continuing to shoot while fleeing,” the South Gate Police Department stated in a post on Instagram Thursday.

The short chase came to an end near Southern and San Carlos avenues, where the suspect was eventually taken into custody.

Investigators said that a loaded rifle was recovered from the vehicle and uploaded an image to the post. “Thankfully, no one was injured,” police said.
