Gayle Anderson reports Team Rubicon, a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises, begins a month-long project today to help the victims of the Eaton wildfire in Altadena.
Founded following the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the organization has grown to more than 160,000 volunteers across the United States and has launched over 1,100 operations domestically and internationally.
To drive equity across disaster and humanitarian services, Team Rubicon focuses on disaster response, from mitigation to immediate response and recovery and rebuild, to maintain the fabric of communities through resilient building methods.
The nonprofit organization solely relies on donations for its disaster relief projects.
Team Rubicon, is a Charity Navigator four star legitimate charity as well as a Guidestar platinum designated charity.
Team Rubicon is based in Los Angeles, so it is mobilized to support official agencies and well as people who have lost their homes and have damaged property. It has 1,500 hundred volunteers ready to go into the disaster zones with police and firefighters to provide disaster relief free of charge!
The veterans of this organization are an experienced disaster response team currently working to help the survivors of disasters in five states: the disasters resulting from Hurricanes Helene and Milton as well as the fire destruction of Lahaina, Hawaii.
It’s important know this organization is not a scam group. Anyone can check its reputation on charity navigator.org and guidestar.org as well as donate to an organization that does not receive any funding. It relies solely on donations to obtain the equipment and supplies needed to respond to disasters of all kinds.

By the way, Team Rubicon has just won the Engage for Good Halo Award for “Best Nonprofit of the Year.”
According to Engage for Good, “Team Rubicon is redefining partnership by turning military experience into community impact. Their innovative approach unites veterans, civilian volunteers, and corporate allies to respond wherever disaster strikes—delivering help fast, and always side-by-side with their partners. With a culture built on grit, trust, and action, Team Rubicon goes beyond emergency response to create long-term, community-centered solutions. Their model of collaboration and commitment inspires all of us to see what’s possible when partnership is more than a buzzword—it’s a way of serving, leading, and making real change together.”
