A missing Southern California boy who was last seen in Long Beach has been found safe.

Corrion Scales, 16, was reported missing on Aug. 11, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police confirmed on Aug. 13 that the boy was “located in Long Beach, safe and unharmed. He has been reunited with his family.”

At the time, Scales, who was considered at-risk, was dropped off at his home before he walked away and out of sight. The boy’s family noted that he had cognitive conditions and could not care for himself.

He did not have a cell phone or a way for his loved ones to track him, police said. His family noted he had walked away in the past, but was usually located nearby. 

Further details, including the circumstances surrounding the boy’s discovery, were not released.
