The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Venice earlier this month and fled without stopping to help.

Just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 20, a 23-year-old Angeleno was walking across Washington Boulevard at Lincoln Boulevard when he was hit by a blue SUV, police said in a news release.

That man was in a crosswalk when he was struck, the SUV did not stop and was last seen heading east on Washington, police said.

The man, meanwhile, was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available for information leading to the driver.
