As KTLA celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Frank Buckley highlights the rich history of Terminal Island, where 3,000 Japanese Americans established America’s tuna industry before being forcibly removed during World War II.

Now, descendants are fighting to preserve the last two remaining buildings from that era, hoping to create a living classroom to remember their ancestors’ sacrifices.
