Panda Express has introduced a new entree available for purchase at restaurants across the country for a limited time only.

The Chinese fast casual chain unveiled its new Firecracker Steak and Shrimp, a spicy take on surf and turf, earlier this month.

The dish features sirloin steak bites and shrimp that are cooked and tossed in a wok alongside red and yellow bell peppers, onions, string beans and dried chili peppers.

The ingredients are then tossed with a dollop of Panda Express‘ firecracker sauce, which includes “fermented black beans and whole dry chili peppers for an extra fiery punch.”

Officials for Panda Express say the new Firecracker Steak and Shrimp offers “irresistible bold flavor” and a “mouthwatering kick in every bite.”

It also features 18 grams of protein per serving, they said.

The new entree is available while supplies last now through May 27.

Panda Express says its chefs are always experimenting with new flavor combinations and entree options. Last fall, the restaurant chain unveiled the limited-time Spicy Wagyu Beef Dumplings at restaurants in the Los Angeles area, and launched the Blazing Bourbon Chicken nationwide after a trial run in select market.

Panda Express tests new menu items at its Innovation Kitchen in Pasadena, where it fine-tunes products before launching to a wider audience. The company itself was founded in the 1980s in the Glendale Galleria.
