While funds last, CAMP, the Community Animal Medicine Project, is providing FREE veterinary services to cats and dogs of evacuated families. Southern California’s largest non-profit veterinary organization that provides low-cost, high-quality veterinary services to historically excluded communities at 6 clinics in Los Angeles, received more than $130,000 in grants to provide FREE medical care to dogs and cats impacted by the local wildfires.

Thousands have been displaced by the recent rash of Southern California wildfires. A variety of organizations are doing what they can to help the displaced, among them the Guitar Center Foundation and Gibson Guitar’s Gibson Cares. The organization is offering one-time grants to replace destroyed instruments.

This Black History Month is the perfect time to learn about the historic women of the Six-Triple Eight, also known as the U.S. Army’s 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the largest group of Black servicewomen to serve overseas during World War II. These remarkable women shattered barriers and played a pivotal role in ensuring that mail reached our American troops.
We can learn about their historic achievement by watching “The Six Triple Eight Documentary”, courtesy the American Veterans Center. The website is americanveteranscenter.org.

To participate, guests 65 and older simply need to present a valid photo ID upon arrival. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Safari Park’s vast 1,800-acre landscape, home to over 3,000 animals representing more than 300 species, alongside a botanical collection featuring over 1.3 million plants. This unique experience provides educational opportunities and unforgettable moments for all ages.
