Time is running out to explore and enjoy the five acres of landscaping and the 15-thousand square foot home of the Bauer Estate & Gardens, which is making its debut as the 60th Pasadena Showcase House of Design. Acclaimed as the finest creation of famous architect Reginald D. Johnson, this 1928 Monterey colonial estate was built by Peter Hall of Gamble House. This was designated by the City of Pasadena in its 2012 study of Historic Designed Gardens. It’s 18 major rooms have been transformed by top interior and landscape designers. Tickets to see the resulting craftsmanship are a fundraiser for the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA), a non-profit organization that supports music programs and other arts initiatives. The historic Tournament House for the Tournament of Roses is open for free tours. This was the Pasadena home of William Wrigley Jr. and his wife Ada Wrigley, known for the Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field and Wrigley Chewing Gum.
Reservations are required at least one day in advance. Each guest must have a complimentary ticket. The tournamentofroses.com/house-tours is the website you will need to make your arrangements.

These artifacts on display in the WORK IN PROGRESS GALLERY at the California Science Center, will not be on display much longer. This special exhibition closes tomorrow, Sunday, May 11th.
The californiasciencecenter.org website says once this exhibit closes, we won’t be able to see historic science artifacts again until they’re in their new home is complete, the under-construction Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, also the new home for the space shuttle Endeavour.
