This is the weekend for the 2024 San Manuel Pow Wow, a celebration free to the public, described as one of the largest in the West, with participants coming to town from Canada and North America. Among them, Glen Begay of Southern California, Tavian Lasuy of Iowa and Chad Star of Washington State.

We’re invited to get on board for the Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch. Now through Halloween there are family fun activities for all ages. The pumpkin patch is behind the train station. Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization, encourages us to do what we can to feed the hungry and support programs that prevent waste. Donations as well as volunteers are especially important this month either at the Second Harvest Food Bank’s warehouse or farm, yes, a farm!
