Forecasters are calling for a chance of rain across Southern California this Christmas Eve.

“There’s a lot of the cloud and fog starting out this morning and then later on this afternoon that’s going to be turning into rain,” KTLA’s Mark Kriski said Tuesday.

The National Weather Service is also calling for cooler temperatures and gusty winds on Tuesday along with continued high surf advisories along the coast.

Most of the heavy rain from Tuesday’s system will remain to our north, but some areas south of Point Conception will see light showers, with less than a tenth of an inch expected.

KTLA’s storm tracker shows moisture arriving in Los Angeles and the surrounding communities around 4 p.m. “That rain could be on and off through this evening,” Kriski said.

Mountain areas above 5,000 feet could see around an inch of snow, according to the Weather Service forecast.

Christmas Day will be dry with slightly higher temperatures as a mild warming trend builds into the weekend.
