2 hospitalized in shooting at Pomona apartment complex

Two people were hospitalized following a shooting at an apartment complex in Pomona.

On Aug. 14, Pomona police responded to the 200 block of W. Grove Street at 9:13 p.m.

Arriving officers found two male victims at the scene with injuries. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and police said a “motive for the crime is not yet known.”

One neighbor said he heard several rapid-fire gunshots, possibly up to eight rounds.

“At first I thought it might’ve been fireworks, but 10 minutes later, [the police] arrived,” he said.

Other neighbors mentioned a party or gathering going on, but authorities have not confirmed whether the incident was related. No further details, including a suspect description, were provided.
