Three people were hospitalized after a violent altercation outside a Metro station in North Hollywood Saturday night.
Los Angeles police responded to a shooting at the intersection of Lankershim and Chandler Boulevards at 6:18 p.m.
Officers found two victims who had been stabbed by a suspect at the scene. Gunfire was reportedly exchanged and the suspect was shot. All three were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Video from the scene showed the busy entrance to the North Hollywood Metro station cordoned off by police tape as officers investigated the scene.
“I’ve seen a lot of things happen here, but this may be the worst one so far,” said Jeff Finn, who lives across the street from the station.
Crowds of commuters and pedestrians could be seen gathering at the site as police wheeled the victims into an ambulance.
The circumstances leading up to the violent confrontation remain unclear. Neither the victims nor the suspect’s identities were released.
