Authorities are asking the public for help in the disappearance of a 7-month-old boy whose mother said was kidnapped in Yucaipa Thursday evening.

Deputies responded to a missing child report on the 34000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard shortly after 7:45 p.m. Thursday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department posted on X later in the evening.

“This is an active investigation, and we are seeking the public’s help in locating the child,” the Sheriff’s Department stated in the post.

In an updated post on Friday, the Sheriff’s Department said that the child’s mother reported that the child was taken when she was attacked outside a retail store on Yucaipa Boulevard.

“K9 scent-tracking dogs were deployed, but the child was not located,” authorities said.

The boy was described as weighing about 21 pounds and is approximately 24 inches tall with brown hair, brown eyes and is cross-eyed, authorities said. He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie.

No description of the suspect was available.
