An altercation between three women ended with gunfire erupting and a hospitalization early on Memorial Day, according to police.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Lee confirmed to KTLA that units responded to the 1100 block of South Hoover Street in L.A.’s Pico-Union neighborhood for a shooting call at 2 a.m. Monday.
“When they arrived on scene, they found a Hispanic female victim suffering from a gunshot wound,” Officer Lee said. “She was transported to a nearby hospital where she is in stable condition.”

Further investigation revealed that the woman was in a dispute with two other women when one of them produced a firearm and fired at her. They then fled the area in a vehicle, Officer Lee said.
No further information was available. Anyone with information is asked to contact the LAPD.
This gun violence incident was the third reported shooting in Los Angeles County within four hours overnight. Around 10 p.m. Sunday night, a shooting at a mall in Long Beach sent three people — including a 14-year-old boy — to the hospital, and at approximately 11 p.m., another shooting was reported near a church in Huntington Park.
None of the three are believed to be connected.
