A recent spate of violence that has plagued Metro vehicles and stations continued with a stabbing Wednesday morning in the Florence neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

The attack was reported at 8:35 a.m. at the Slauson station, which is located in the center of the 110 Freeway above Slauson Avenue.

Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department added that they responded to the station’s east parking lot.

The suspected attacker, only described as a Hispanic man about 30 years old, attacked another person, according to Officer Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Im added that the person did not sustain a life-threatening wound, and Humphrey said no one was transported to the hospital.

The attacker was last seen wearing a white painter’s suit.

This year, numerous people have been shot, stabbed or otherwise attacked on and near Metro stations and vehicles.

Metro officials have proposed several changes, including creating their own police force and cracking down on fare evaders.

Much of the violence on the public transit system has been perpetrated by those who did not pay their fare.
