An armed suspect was arrested after allegedly confronting a neighbor over loud music in Ventura Saturday afternoon.

The suspect was identified as Braulio Acosta, 35, according to the Ventura Police Department.

Police responded to reports of a man with a gun outside a home on McFarlane Drive, just east of Ventura Avenue, around 1:30 p.m.

The victim, a 29-year-old man, had invited a relative over who had parked their car near Acosta’s home.

While carrying a firearm, Acosta reportedly exited his home and confronted the victim and his guest over loud music that was coming from their vehicle.

During the confrontation, Acosta allegedly pointed his handgun at the neighbor’s relative and “aggressively poked the victim in the chest with the weapon,” authorities said.

Officers arriving at the scene located Acosta and took him into custody. He was found with a loaded firearm. 

He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Ventura County Jail. No injuries were reported during the incident.
