Police are searching for a suspect who stole a 50-pound fiberglass dinosaur from outside a Los Angeles gas station over the weekend.
For six years, the 4-foot-tall dino stood at the Sinclair station on 13060 San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood, but that all changed early Saturday morning.
Surveillance video shows a man in a hoodie walking across the parking lot with a power tool and then bending over to cut the bolts at the dinosaur’s feet.
The suspect then wraps the popular tiny-sauraus in a blanket before tossing it into the back of a pickup truck and driving away.
Customers say they already miss their prehistoric pal who donned different costumes throughout the year.
“We loved it. We walked past it every day, and every season the owner would decorate it in different ways; it was so fun. I was so sad,” Brentwood resident Nanna Stern said.
Since the theft, the gas station has been flooded with phone calls and flowers.
“It’s the beloved dinosaur from Brentwood. All the kids loved it, and here it is, come Saturday, the dinosaur’s gone,” David K said.
