A woman was arrested after a bicyclist was killed in a suspected DUI crash in Santa Ana.

The suspect was identified as Vanessa Anahi Picenavalos, 26, of Santa Ana, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

On Aug. 27, police responded to the 2500 block of North Grand Avenue around 11:35 p.m.

A preliminary investigation revealed the bicyclist was crossing the road when he was struck by a driver near Grand and Fairhaven Avenues.

Despite life-saving efforts, the victim, Andrew Rodriguez, 39, of Wilmington, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, Picenavalos, was arrested for driving under the influence. No further details were released as the case remains under investigation.
