Deputies in Big Bear Lake are seeking more victims of a man they believe might be a serial burglar linked to multiple break-ins in the area.
On September 20, at about 9:30 a.m., a homeowner discovered his part-time residence on the 100 block of Metcalf Creek Street had been burglarized. Authorities say the home’s front door and attic lock were damaged, and several items were reported missing.
Surveillance footage from a nearby property captured a man walking near the burglarized home.
Investigators identified that suspect as 40-year-old Jacob Matara, of Big Bear City. Matara was previously arrested in connection with another burglary in Big Bear Lake on September 14.
Deputies ask anyone who may have had their home burglarized between August 31 and September 14 to contact the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station.
