A community remains on alert after surveillance cameras captured a naked suspect lurking around the backyard of an Inland Empire home.
In a video posted to Instagram by @morenovalleymatters, the male suspect was seen walking around the backyard of a Moreno Valley home on the 24000 block of Patrician Court on Dec. 10 at around 8:20 p.m. At one point, he tried opening a door to gain access to the home, but the door was locked.
He spent the rest of the night lounging on a makeshift bed he created by pushing two outdoor patio chairs together.
The homeowners were not present when the intrusion occurred, but said they were able to confirm the man’s every move through their home surveillance cameras.
The naked suspect eventually left the backyard at around 9:30 a.m. the next morning. It’s unclear what motivated him to target the Moreno Valley home.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the property but when they arrived, the suspect had already fled.
Neighbors in the area said they’re concerned the man will trespass again and if confronted by residents, the situation could turn dangerous.
“I think it’s crazy,” said John Mulverhill, a Moreno Valley resident. “He should be punished.”
Locals said they hope the man is caught soon before he goes on the prowl again.
The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to identify and track down the suspect.
Anyone with information can call the Moreno Valley Station at 951-247-8700.
