Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man found on a walking trail in Laguna Niguel on Friday, officials said.
The victim was discovered around approximately 4 p.m. near Niguel Woods Park, which sits between Niguel Road and Highlands Avenue near the Laguna Niguel Plaza, said Ray Grangoff, a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
A suspect was subsequently taken into custody, but authorities could not provide further details on when or where.
There were no outstanding suspects and no danger to the community, officials said.
No further details were being released on the condition the man’s body was found in and the surrounding circumstances, pending further investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office was also not releasing any information about the deceased’s identity, other than that he was an adult male, nor the suspect’s, Grangoff said.
No further details were immediately available.
OCSD is conducting a death investigation in Laguna Niguel. The investigation concerns the death of an adult male that occurred on a walking trail near Niguel Woods Park. Based on preliminary investigation there is no danger to the community.
