A security guard opened fire as four suspects tried to break into a Westwood home that was occupied by residents early Wednesday morning.

Los Angeles police responded to the call at the upscale home on the 10400 block of Lindbrook Drive just east of UCLA around 5 a.m.

Officers learned that the victims were home when the four intruders entered the residence, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to KTLA.

A security guard opened fire on at least one of the suspects, but no injuries were reported, according to the spokesperson.

Aerial video from Sky5 over the scene at 6 a.m. showed a large police response outside the home.

Officers searched and cleared the residence and took one suspect into custody, the spokesperson said.

The other three suspects, described only as males, remain outstanding.

It was unclear if anything was taken from the home.
