A dramatic rescue took place after a hiker fell while visiting a popular Southern California rock climbing destination over the weekend.

Ground and air resources were sent to a rugged and remote section of the Stoney Point climbing area shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department posted on Facebook.

Images shared by the Fire Department showed a flight paramedic descending from a rescue helicopter to hoist the hiker who had fallen about 30 feet from the area located east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and south of the 118 Freeway.

The unidentified patient was treated and prepared before being lifted to the hovering chopper.
