Supporters of immigrants are gathering in MacArthur Park in the Westlake area of Los Angeles Tuesday to show their continued opposition to federal raids.
The all-day event includes marches to the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, where the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meets, and the Metropolitan Detention Center.
Also included is a boycott against large corporations like Target, Home Depot and Walmart.
“If you can’t show up here, don’t shop at these big corporations that won’t speak out about the illegal raids that are happening,” Simboa Wright, vice president of the SEIU Local 721 union that supports the protest, told KTLA’s Ellina Abovian.
Instead, Angelenos are being encouraged to support local businesses.
