Vine Street in Hollywood has reopened after up to two gallons of an “unknown liquid” that was later determined to be epoxy glue was taped to the front doors of a bank, prompting an investigation that shut down the area.
At about 8:45 a.m., two one-gallon bottles containing the mystery fluid were taped to the front doors of a bank in the 1600 block of Vine Street, the LAFD said in a news alert.

That address corresponds to a Wells Fargo branch, and footage from the scene shows the area just outside the bank was taped off, and Vine Street was closed in the meantime.
The Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad was also on scene assisting, police said.
Police later indicated that they believe the liquid to be epoxy glue, and it was cleaned off of the bank’s doors.
Footage shared to the Citizen app shows a police robot inspecting the doors, which had a large puddle of glue at their base.

The possible motive behind the placement of the glue has not been disclosed.
No one was sickened or injured, fire officials added.
