Bad news, Lakers fans: LeBron James is going to miss the start of the season.
The superstar will be out for three to four weeks due to sciatica, ESPN reports, a timeline that overlaps with the start of the season later this month.
Sciatica is pain that comes from the sciatic nerve, which runs from the back to the legs.
James, 40, will also miss the preseason and hasn’t practiced thus far this season due to what coach JJ Redick called “nerve irritation in his glute,” ESPN said.
When he does hit the court, James will mark his 23rd season in the NBA.
