A suspect was arrested after leading officers on a high-speed chase through Los Angeles County Friday night.

The pursuit began out of the Pomona area on the 60 Freeway as the male suspect was wanted for evading authorities.

He refused to yield and hit speeds of over 100 miles per hour before transitioning to the 710 Freeway as California Highway Patrol officers followed closely behind.

The driver exited in the Huntington Park area and continued driving recklessly on surface streets, running red lights, ignoring traffic laws and narrowly missing other vehicles.

He approached traffic near Florence and Stafford Avenues as a line of cars blocked the road. The momentary pause allowed CHP patrol units to catch up and corner the suspect’s vehicle.

Officers quickly approached the driver’s side with guns drawn and opened the door before dragging the suspect to the ground. He was handcuffed and taken into custody without further incident.
