A 13-year-old Southern California girl who was missing for nearly a week was found safe.
“On May 6, 2025, around 8 a.m., Zhinya Rodgers returned home safely and was reunited with her family,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.
Rodgers was initially reported missing on April 30 after she was last seen leaving her home on the 400 block of West 109th Street in South L.A. around 11:30 a.m.
At the time, the teen’s family had not heard from her since her disappearance and authorities said the girl was considered critically missing.
The circumstances surrounding her discovery were not released. Police only confirmed that she was located and is back home.
