LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Police took a man into custody Thursday morning after he attempted to take over a self-driving taxi in downtown Los Angeles.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near South Hill and 5th streets when the man sitting in the driver’s seat of a Waymo taxi refused to get out.
Video showed him talking to police officers as they approached behind a riot shield.

One of the officers then opened Waymo’s door and pulled the man out of the vehicle.
The unidentified man was handcuffed and led away by officers.
It was unclear why he initially entered the Waymo.
